Lamy homes for sale are in and around the small railroad community of Lamy, southeast of Santa Fe off US 285. Lamy has served as Santa Fe's train depot for over 130 years, and Amtrak's Southwest Chief still stops at the station daily. Listings include single-family homes and estates, plus land, most of it on larger rural parcels with open views across the Galisteo Basin. Current Lamy listings from the Santa Fe MLS appear below.
The village, first called Galisteo Junction, is named for Archbishop Jean Baptiste Lamy. It grew up when the main line of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway passed south of the capital, and an 18-mile spur line, finished in 1880, was built to carry passengers and freight into Santa Fe. A few historic buildings remain near the depot. Around the village, the land is open grassland and pinon-juniper hills cut by arroyos and Galisteo Creek. The Galisteo Basin Preserve's trails and open space are close by.

School district boundaries in this part of the county vary, so confirm the district for the specific address. The drive to Santa Fe goes north on US 285 to I-25, and Eldorado is on the way for groceries and errands. Rail travelers can catch the Southwest Chief at the Lamy station.
Lamy buyers often compare the HWY 285 corridor, Galisteo, Eldorado and Glorieta. For acreage, see land for sale in Santa Fe.
